CONWAY, SC (WMBF) – The City of Conway is opening a Warming Shelter at the Conway Senior Center on Friday and Saturday due to the below-freezing temperatures predicted for this weekend.

The shelter will open each night at 6 p.m. and close at 8 a.m. the next day, according to a news release from the city. The shelter will close at 10 p.m. if there are no occupants at that time.

Cots, blankets, pillow, snacks and beverages will be available, the release states. No pets are allowed.

The Conway Senior Center is located at 1519 Mill Pond Road.

According to First Alert Meteorologist Marla Branson,  Friday night will turn frigid with lows dipping to the 20s for everyone and another cold day Saturday in the 40s. More clouds arrive Sunday, but we get a bit warmer, pushing the afternoon highs up around 60.
