Red Velvet Crinkle Cookies

On the first day of the WMBF News Christmas Cookie Countdown brought to you by Croissants Bistro and Bakery, we’re showing you how to make: Red Velvet Crinkle Cookies

Ingredients:

2 ¼ cup AP flour

2 cups sugar

2 TBSP unsweetened cocoa powder

2 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp salt

8 oz cream cheese

4 TBSP softened butter

1 egg

1 TBSP red food coloring

powdered sugar for rolling

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Whisk together dry ingredients. Set aside.

Cream butter and cream cheese until smooth. Beat in egg and food coloring.

Add dry ingredients gradually until dough forms.

Cover and chill for two hours.

Roll dough into 1-inch balls and roll in powdered sugar.

Bake 10- 12 minutes.

If you don't feel like baking, you can always head down to Croissants, where they will have cookie trays available every day until Christmas!

    BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WMBF) – Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office is looking to identify a suspect who robbed a BP gas station Saturday night, according to a release. The suspect robbed the gas station at 5053 Southport-Supply Road in Southport around 8:30 Saturday night.     Educators of the future are taking a stand, following a vigil held on the camps of Coastal Carolina University honoring the 17 lives lost in a Florida shooting. CCU students Tyler Bealmear and Kaycelyn Laymon have a love and passion for children and education, their hearts broken by the tragedy, but each refusing to let situations like these continue.
