HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - The South Carolina Highway Patrol reported a fatal accident that took place on South Hwy 57 near Gore Road Friday morning.
The victim of the accident was identified as 47-year-old Horatio Johnson Junior, of Myrtle Beach, according to Horry County Coroner Robert Edge.
Highway Patrol reported at 4:16 a.m., that a pedestrian was in the roadway. They later reported the accident was a fatal hit-and-run.
Highway 57 near Gore Road will be closed this morning until further notice, according to SCHP.
