HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A power outage affecting about 1,500 customers around Aynor was caused by a car hitting a pole, according to the Horry Electric Cooperative.
The company reported the outage at about 6:10 p.m. Monday, initially saying that there is no word yet on the cause. Later, the company stated that a car hit a pole, and they had to drop three circuits out of the Aynor substation. At about 7:05 p.m., the company announced that power had been restored.
At the peak of the outage, the company's outage map showed 1,520 customers were without power.
