HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Officers arrested a couple after they blocked a landlord from leaving the scene and used firearms to intimidate them, according to Horry County Police Lt. Raul Denis.

The incident stems from an eviction at a residence in the Longs area. When the landlord served someone with an eviction notice on November 9, a couple become involved, and they responded by blocking the landlord from leaving and using firearms to intimidate and threaten the landlord, according to Lt. Denis.

The eviction was not directly related to the couple's property, but they were present when the eviction notice was served on the other person, and "took it upon themselves to get involved," Lt. Denis stated.

Reports show that Steven Mills, 43, of Longs is charged with two counts of kidnapping and two counts of pointing and presenting a weapon at a person, and Victoria Mills, 45, of Longs is charged with two counts of kidnapping.

Police originally reported that the eviction notice was served on the Mills' property. Police later provided an update that the eviction notice was not directly related to the Mills' property.
