MURRELLS INLET, SC (WMBF) – One suspect is in custody after a bank robbery in Murrells Inlet, officials confirm.

Joshua Paul Santerre, 39, of Myrtle Beach, is charged with armed robbery, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and threatening to use a destructive device, according to a news release from the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office. Bond was set at $250,000 total for the three charges.

The robbery happened about 4 p.m. Wednesday afternoon at the South State Bank in Murrells Inlet, according to the GCSO.

Authorities said a man walked into the bank and gave a note to the staff saying he wanted money from the staff and placed a suspicious cylindrical item on the counter.

The man did get away with an undisclosed amount of money and left.

No injuries occurred during the incident, according to the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office.

The man was eventually found about a quarter mile from the bank and taken into custody.
