Myrtle Beach police respond to attempted robbery involving a pistol

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Myrtle Beach police responded to an incident on 12th Avenue North that involved an attempted robbery suspect with a pistol, according to a Myrtle Beach police report.

When police arrived at the scene, the victim had heavy bleeding and severe bruises from his head, the report states.

The victim said that he was on his laptop in front of his hotel room when the suspect tried to rob him.

However, the suspect was unsuccessful, and the victim said that he saw a silver pistol.

The report also states that during the time of the incident, three suspicious men were running from the property towards Mr. Joe White Avenue and Withers Drive.

One man was described as wearing a red shirt, red pants, and a red bandana. The second man was wearing a silver tank top and a gold chain. The third man was wearing a black T-shirt. All of the men were between the ages of 15 and 25, according to the report.

A white-silver colored car that was parked in the area may have been involved as well.

The victim's wife said that she didn't know what was going on until her husband banged on the door. She said that the men didn't come inside of the room, and could only describe one of the suspects as a black man.

The victim was taken to the hospital for medical treatment, the report states.
