Local organizations sponsor holiday events

GRAND STRAND, PEE DEE (WMBF) – It’s that time of year for some holiday cheer and everyone is encouraged to come out and enjoy family-friendly holiday events throughout the months of November and December.

Below are a list of detailed events that will be hosted across the Grand Strand and Pee Dee:

Twas the Night Before Christmas - These performances will be held at the Atlantic Stage between November 23 and December 18. Performance times are 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 3:00 p.m. on Sunday. Purchase tickets by clicking here.

The Great Christmas Light Show - The show will be held from November 25 to November 30 at the North Myrtle Beach Park and Sports Complex. Gates are open from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. More information here

Intracoastal Christmas Regatta – There will be a boat parade, toy drive and humane society collection at the Little River Inlet at 5:00 p.m. on November 26. Fill out a paper application online or call Susie Watson for entry information 843-249-8888. Click here to donate.

Winter Choral - The 17th Annual CCU Holiday Concert will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Conway on November 29 at 7:30 p.m. 

Nights of a Thousand Candles – Brookgreen Gardens will have paths decorated with more than 5,500 hand-lit candles and countless sparkling lights from 3:00 – 10:00 p.m. on the following dates: December 1-3, 8-10, and 15-18

Holidays on the Boardwalk – This event will feature camel rides, polar express train rides along the Boardwalk on 10th Ave N and Ocean Blvd. Live music and entertainment will be provided on both stages; I Love Sugar stage in Plyler Park next to the SkyWheel and on 9th Ave N and Ocean Blvd. There will be a Ripley's Ruckus Drum Line on the hour in front of Ripley's. Bring an odd ornament for a discounted admission and kids can bring in their report card and will admit for only $1. All events will be scheduled every weekend until January.

Conway’s Christmas tree Lighting – There will be a Christmas tree lighting in Downtown Conway on December 1. Just text Conway to 84464 for more event details

Surfside Christmas tree Lighting - The Christmas Tree Lighting will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 1 at Town Hall in Surfside Beach. There will also be music and light refreshments.

North Myrtle Beach Christmas Tree Lighting - This event will be held at the North Myrtle Beach Sports and Complex at 5:30 p.m. on December 2.

North Myrtle Beach Christmas Parade - The parade will feature lighted floats and more on December 3 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Main Street. 

North Myrtle Beach Christmas Canata - This event will be held at the Ocean Drive Presbyterian Church at 6th Avenue South and Hillside Drive on December 3 at 3:30 p.m., and December 4 at 3:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Santa Paws Doggie Contest - Dress up your pooch and show him or her off in their holiday costume on December 3 at 2:00 in Plyer Park. Have their picture taken with Santa! Judges will score on originality, personality, tricks, and creativity. Top 3 winners will receive great prizes. There will be a parade up and down the Boardwalk before the winners are announced

A very Broadway Christmas - The day kicks off with the Ripley's Attractions Myrtle Beach Holiday Parade, followed by Center Court Activities & Entertainment all leading up to the 22nd Annual Tree Lighting Celebration followed by a Fireworks Extravaganza at 8pm over Lake Broadway. The event will be held on December 3 from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Annual Darlington Christmas Parade – The parade is scheduled for December 4 at 4:00 p.m. The lineup will start on South Spain St. For more information, contact Dwayne Weatherford 843-393-5006

Florence Christmas Parade - This event will be held on December 9 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Court Street in Downtown Florence. Click here for the online registration form 

23rd Annual ‘Uniting and Celebrating’ Christmas Parade Campaign - Longs volunteers will host a Christmas parade on December 10 at 11:00 a.m. Volunteers will be accepting monetary donations to support the elderly and youth programs in the community. Those items will be distributed during and after the Christmas parade. For more information, contact Maconda Wilson at 843-283-1974

Conway Chamber Christmas Parade – The parade is scheduled for December 10 in Downtown Conway. Text Conway to 84464 for more event details

Surfside Christmas Parade – Surfside will host a Christmas parade on Saturday, December 10 at Ocean Blvd./Surfside Drive from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Sixth Annual Pancake Breakfast with Santa - The Myrtle Beach Professional Firefighters will be hosting this event on December 10 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church located at 3301 33rd Avenue Extension North.

Christmas Towne - The 13th annual event will feature free photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, balloon art, face paintings, and treats on December 11 at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. 

Breakfast with Santa – This event will be held on Saturday, December 19 at 9:00 a.m. at the Golden Egg Restaurant.

Myrtle Beach Firework Shows - There will be firework shows on Broadway at the Beach on December 3 and December 31 starting at 8:00 p.m. There will also be a firework show at Barefoot Landing on December 31 at 6:00 p.m. Another show will be held on December 31 at 10:00 p.m. at the 2nd Avenue Pier.

The Christmas Show of the South - There will be a Christmas show at The Calvin Gilmore Theater in Myrtle Beach. Shows run November 1 through January 1, 2017, with regular evening performances and selectively scheduled matinees. For a full schedule click here and to book tickets call 800-843-6779.
