Two arrested after report of shots fired at Remedies bar

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Reports of a shooting at Remedies sports bar led to the arrest of two suspects.

According to information from Horry County Police Lt. Raul Denis, Michquan K. Brown, 22, of Myrtle Beach, is charged with pointing and presenting a firearm, driving under suspension, failure to stop for a blue light and siren, and unlawful carrying of a pistol.

Additionally, Corey L. Chestnut, 23, of Conway, is charged with resisting arrest and unlawful carry of a pistol, Denis said.

Brown was released Saturday on a $3,152.50 bond, according to online records from the J. Reuben Long Detention Center. Lyle remained in jail Monday under a $2,500 bond.

According to Denis, officers responded to the bar at 8:15 p.m., on Thursday after receiving a call of shots fired.

Witnesses told police they saw a man strike another individual with a pistol during an argument, which led to the weapon discharging.

Both parties left the bar in a vehicle and officers later found it and apprehended both suspects, according to Denis.
