UPDATE: Suspect charged in connection with deadly Conway shooting

CONWAY, SC (WMBF) – Conway police have charged a man with accessory after the fact to felony murder in reference to a fatal shooting incident that involved a taxi-cab driver on Monday, November 21 on Dillon Street, according to Conway Police Department's press release.

Horry County Deputy Coroner Tony Hendricks said the victim, identified as David John Bennett, 54, of Conway, died from a single gunshot wound to the chest while sitting behind the wheel of his taxi around 6:15 a.m., Monday.

Conway Police have charged Lloyd Edward Pertelle, III, 18 with accessory after the fact to felony murder, according to the release.

Bond hearing was held Wednesday morning, and bond was set for $75,000. Pertelle will also be placed on a GPS Monitior, according to Per Darren Alson with the Conway Police Department. 

Conway police are investigating.

This was the third shooting in the Conway area in two days. On Saturday morning, a person received life-threatening injuries in a shooting near 10th Avenue and Main Street in Conway. On Monday morning, one person was shot on Fairway Lane in the Wild Wing Plantation neighborhood in Conway.
