DARLINGTON COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Two men and one woman were taken to the hospital after a shooting occurred at 908 S. F Street during a house party in the Alphabet Hill area near Hartsville around 11:30 p.m., on Saturday, according to Darlington County Sheriff Wayne Byrd.

The woman was taken into surgery after the shooting, Byrd added. None of the victims had life-threatening wounds.

One woman who lives next to the house said she and her family were inside the house when the shooting happened.

Joyce Wright said she moved into her house on Friday night, and the next night is when she heard gun shots outside her house.

“It was two at first and then they fired off again about three times,” Wright said.

Wright has two little boys and said she doesn't feel safe in the neighborhood anymore.

"It was real loud. My little boys got scared and they ran around," Wright said. "I don’t know, it’s crazy.”

Wright added she looked outside and saw one car take off. So that night, she left with her family.

Sherri Weikel used to live in the same house Wright is in now. She said she moved away from the area because her house was broken into multiple times, and because the neighborhood had a bad reputation.

“When I heard, I was scared that, you know, one of the kids got shot," Weikel said. But by the grace of God, they didn’t, thank God.”

Weikel was visiting a family who live on F Street and said she was not surprised when she heard about the shooting.

Byrd said this is the first shooting they’ve seen around Alphabet Hill in a long time.

Weikel said drug activity is an issue and she wants the perpetrators gone.

"We need protection. We need law enforcement to protect us,” she said.

Wright said she wants to find a better place to live for her family.

“Peace and quiet," Wright said. "No drama or drugs, none of that. Hopefully we’ll find that soon. I don’t want to be here for too long."

At this time, no arrests have been made in connection to the shooting. The victims and subjects at the location have been uncooperative, Byrd said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Darlington County Sheriff's Office.
