UPDATE: Four dogs killed in mobile home fire in Conway area

CONWAY, SC (WMBF) – Four dogs were killed in the fire that consumed a mobile home in the Conway area Friday afternoon, according to first responders on the scene.

They added that 50 percent of the home was involved when they arrived. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Horry County Fire Battalion Chief Brian Van Aernem said it was a single-wide mobile home at 224 Old Hwy. 701 that caught fire. The call came in before 3:30 p.m.

According to emergency responders on the scene, the homeowner was not at the residence when the fire started.
