GEORGETOWN, SC (WMBF) – A Georgetown man was taken into custody Thursday for allegedly sexual assault against a woman who was trying to quote a housecleaning job.
According to a press release from the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office, James A. Gabella, 69, is charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct and kidnapping. He remains in the Georgetown County Detention Center.
He was taken into custody at 7:30 p.m., Thursday at his home.
According to the GCSO, deputies went to Georgetown Tidelands Memorial Hospital in response to a sexual assault complaint.
The victim alleged she went to the suspect's home to quote a housecleaning job.
"Once the victim entered the location, the defendant produced a weapon and forced the victim into a sexual battery," the release stated.
