FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Firefighters from the West Florence Fire Department extinguished a fire at a home on Vintage Place Wednesday morning.

The fire was reported by a neighbor at 8:13 a.m. and WFFD crews were on scene about six minutes later, according to Captain Anthony Fox. The fire was extinguished about five minutes later.

There were no injuries; there was not a family in the home at the time, Capt. Fox said.

The damage was limited to the area where the fire originated, Capt. Fox said. There was some damage to the roof structure on the inside of the home, minor water damage from extinguishment, and some damage to the outside of the house from heat and flames.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but it appears as though there was some electrical or equipment malfunction.
