NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – An Horry County man was arrested Tuesday after calling police and telling them that there was a bomb in the White House and at an undisclosed location in Charleston.
Justin M. McCoy, 25, called North Myrtle Beach Public Safety Communications and told communications officers about the bombs, according to a news release from NMB officials. An officer met with McCoy, who reaffirmed that a bomb was in the White House.
McCoy was arrested by NMB Police officers at about midnight Tuesday on charges of making a bomb threat or conveying false information about a bomb threat, the release states.
North Myrtle Beach spokesman Patrick Dowling said this is a continuing investigation that involves other levels of law enforcement beyond NMB Public Safety, including the U.S. Secret Service.
