MARLBORO COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Four men were arrested on drug charges as a result of two traffic stops in Marlboro County on October 26 and November 5, according to the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office.

Demarcus Tryon Williams, 24, and Floydrek Raekwon Davis, 20, both from Bennettsville, were arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana after deputies found narcotics inside a vehicle during a traffic stop on October 26, according to an MCSO news release.

On November 5, 27-year-old Timale Antwan Covington and 21-year-old Shamar Hakeem Sellers, both from Bennettsville, were arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of crack cocaine and unlawful carrying of a pistol after a traffic stop in which deputies found evidence in the vehicle.

“I would like to commend Deputy Ryan Gardner for his work on both of these cases and traffic stops,” said Sheriff-Elect Charles Lemon. “I’m committed to getting drugs off the streets of Marlboro County and being pro-active and in this instance, it paid off. The Bennettsville Police Dept assisted in both cases and did a great job as well. If anyone has any information about illegal narcotics, please feel free to call and your information will be kept confidential. “
