Marlboro County deputies arrest seven suspects on burglary charges

MARLBORO COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Seven suspects, including one juvenile, were arrested on 1st degree burglary charges stemming from three burglary incidents that occurred in Marlboro County, according to Sheriff-elect Charles Lemon.

The Marlboro County Sheriff's Office and Investigators found that numerous firearms were stolen from a residence in Bennettsville. Ricky Grady, 19, and a juvenile has been charged as an adult for this case, MCSO's press release states.

An investigation revealed a safe and numerous electronics were stolen at a residence on Maple Street. It appeared that three suspects were near the crime scene right before the burglary occurred. The suspects charged in that case are: Michael Allan Armfield, 17 of Bennettsville; Devondra Keon Pratt, 17 of Laurinburg, NC; and Dewayne Townsned, 17, of Bennettsville.

According to the release, deputies and investigators responded to a burglary in Wallace and found that the victims had numerous guns and electronics stolen. The suspects charged in the case are: Armfield; Devonte Maurice Malachi, 19 of Bennettsville; and Tyberious Fennell, 32, of Bennettsville.

Bond was set at $100,000 surety for each suspect with the exception of Fennell. They are also required to have GPS monitoring if they make bond. The juvenile is being held in Columbia at DJJ, the release states.

"This investigation lead to the arrest of some very young defendants who were committing serious offenses.The guns that we recovered, if placed in the wrong hands could be a major safety issue to citizens.There are still guns and property that we have not recovered and if anyone has information about the case, please call and your information will be kept confidential, "said Sheriff-elect Lemon.
