MARLBORO COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal accident that happened Tuesday afternoon in Marlboro County.
According to information on the SCHP's website, the two-car collision happened around 2:30 p.m., at 2044 Academy Road near Jesse Adams Road and Tara Lane.
Lance Corporal Matt Southern said Thomas Hudson, of Mccoll, was driving a 2001 Cadillac northbound on Academy Road when a 2012 Honda crossed the center line and hit Hudson's Cadillac head on.
The driver of the Honda, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was entrapped and sustained fatal injuries. Hudson sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was flown by medical helicopter to Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia.
