CONWAY, S.C. (WMBF) - Earlier this year, Coastal Carolina's quarterback carousel was in effect after the injury bug hit the position. Starter Josh Stilley and second stringer Avery McCall both have been out for more than a month after getting hurt. Tyler Keane – originally the fifth on the depth chart - is the regular starter now.
However, dealing with injuries has become a bit of an issue at the running back spot now. Deangelo Henderson is the All-American that owns the Division I record for most consecutive games with a touchdown, but is likely to miss a third straight game with a shoulder injury. Osharmar Abercrombie is likely out for the year with a leg injury suffered against Charleston Southern. This has paved the way for Kenny Daniels, Ra'Quan Bennett and Jah-Maine Martin to form a committee of sorts moving forward, and that will be the case once again this Saturday against Monmouth.
"Henderson, I don't expect to play this week," head coach Joe Moglia explained. Osharmar, I don't expect to play this week. I expect Kenny to start and I expect Jah-Maine to back him up. That doesn't mean we won't use other guys at running back. We used a lot of guys there the other day (against Presbyterian)."
