Myrtle Beach police charge man in Ocean Boulevard motel shooting

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Myrtle Beach police arrested a suspect charged in connection with an Oct. 27 shooting at an Ocean Boulevard motel.

According to information from Myrtle Beach Police Lt. Joey Crosby, Michael Antonio Montgomery, 36, of Salters, S.C., is charged with attempted murder, attempted armed robbery and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.

The suspect remains in the Myrtle Beach Jail awaiting a bond hearing.

According to Crosby, officers responded to the Bermuda Sands motel on Oct. 27 in reference to the shooting. When police arrived, they found the victim, who was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Over the course of the investigation, police learned the shooting occurred at the nearby 7 Brothers Motel, Crosby said.
