CONWAY, SC (WMBF) – Horry County Government has instituted a burning ban for all unincorporated areas beginning immediately.

According to a press release, the ban is being implemented due to low humidity and moderate winds forecast for the weekend.

“Horry County Government has a policy allowing it to institute an outdoor burning ban whenever there’s a statewide red flag alert or if weather conditions appear conducive to wildfires,” the release stated.

The burning ban will be in effect until further notice.
