Around 100 cars burned at Marion County used parts shop

MARION COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Units with the Windy Hill Rural Fire Department are assisting Marion firefighters with battling a multiple-car blaze Thursday afternoon.

According to Windy Hill firefighters, the fire is at Case Used Parts, located over the Pee Dee Bridge off S.C. 76 and just near the Florence County line.

A WMBF News crew on the scene said roughly 100 cars were on fire at the shop. According to Marion Rural Fire Chief Billy Wallace, the blaze started around 3:30 p.m.

Foaming water was used to extinguish the fire, Wallace added. 

The fire was under control just before 6:30 p.m.
