Myrtle Beach man faces murder charge after stabbing victim to death

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A man was arrested on a murder charge after a stabbing incident that occurred on October 5 in Myrtle Beach, according to a police report from Myrtle Beach PD.

Once the officer arrived on the scene, he met with the victim, and observed his bloody clothes and a punctured wound to his left, rear rib area, according to the report.

A witness on the scene said that the victim and 74-year-old Lonzie Carl Johnson had an argument while the victim was seated. Before the victim had a chance to stand up Johnson stabbed him near his ribs.

Officers made contact with Johnson in his apartment, the report states.

Johnson was taken to J Reuben Long Detention Center. No bail has been set at this time, according to online records.

This incident remains under investigation.
