HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A total reward of up to $20,000 is being offered got information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the burglary of over 200 guns from the Five Star Gun store in Longs during Hurricane Matthew.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is offering a reward of up to $10,000, which will be matched by the National Shooting Sports Foundation, the trade association for the firearms industry, according to a news release from the ATF.
On or around Sunday, October 9, during the height of the Hurricane Matthew, a suspect or suspects forcibly entered the store, located at 1540 Hwy. 9 in Longs, and stole about 225 guns, including at least 150 handguns and 35 AR rifles, according to the police report.
