MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Russell Cavendar, known locally as The Snake Chaser, was on the case again Wednesday after the recent severe weather displaced an alligator, which was on the beach near Briarcliffe Acres and Myrtle Beach Travel Park.

Cavendar said he got the call at 2 p.m., Wednesday. When he arrived, he quickly removed the gator, which he said came in at 6 feet and about 90 pounds, from the beach.

He blamed Hurricane Matthew for the situation.

“These storms have displaced a lot of animals,” Cavendar said.

Video he shot with the reptile inside his vehicle can be seen above.
