Lottery officials announce $100,000 Powerball® ticket sold in Florence

COLUMBIA, SC (WMBF) – A $100,000 Powerball®, ticket was sold in Florence at the Maxwell Street Grocery Inc. on Oakland Avenue on Wednesday, October 5, according to a press release from the South Carolina Education Lottery.

Lottery officials said the player paid an additional $1 for PowerPlay®, so their $50,000 prize doubled to $100,000 when a "2" multiplier was selected.

People are advised to check their tickets. More than 8,200 players in South Carolina hold tickets for prizes from $4 up to $100,000. Players have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes, the release states.

The odds of matching four white ball numbers and the red Powerball® number are 1 in 913,129. The odds of a 2X multiplier being selected are 1 in 1.79.

The release states that $107 million is the estimated jackpot for Wednesday night's drawing.
