Boil water advisory lifted for Florence

FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) – The boil water advisory issued for Florence residents in the wake of Hurricane Matthew has been lifted.

According to a press release from utilities director Michael Hemingway, an analysis of water samples by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control shows no bacteriological contamination exists.

The lifting of the boil water advisory includes those areas where water service restoration is currently underway.
