State fundraising efforts continue in the wake of Hurricane Matthew

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Gov. Nikki Haley is extending fundraising efforts to help South Carolinians impacted by Hurricane Matthew and the river flooding it created.

To date the One S.C. Fund has raised $2 million to help with recovery efforts since last year’s October flood.

Now, the state is faced with a new a challenge following Matthew.

    SCOTLAND COUNTY, NC (WMBF) — Another school system has opted to keep it's doors closed in the aftermath of Hurricane Florence.  Schools will be closed for students Monday, September 24 - Friday, September 28.  These days will be required teacher workdays for staff, including teacher assistants.   Friday, October 5 was previously on the calendar as a teacher workday/professional development day.  It will now be a regular school day for students and sta...More >>
