FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – With just 60 percent of Florence County assessed for damage, emergency officials say initial estimates currently show over $12 million in damage, 768 homes with minor damage, 64 with major damage, and 29 homes completely destroyed.
Florence County Emergency Management hopes to have the rest of the county assessed by Wednesday, but says that parts of the county are still inaccessible.
The current damage estimate, $12,346,211, includes only damage to personal property at this time, according to Andrew Golden with Florence County EMD. Assessment to county infrastructure, such as roads, bridges and county facilities, is still being undertaken. This process will also include costs for debris removal.
