MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Santee Electric Cooperative crews continue to restore electricity for 39,356 customers in Florence, Georgetown, Horry, Clarendon, and Williamsburg Counties, according to a press release from Santee Electric Cooperative.
Progression is slow because only half of the substations are energized, the press release states.
Although more than 200 men are helping, it's difficult for crews to make their way down roads. They have been making repairs to primary power lines.
According to the release, Santee Electric Cooperative cannot give any estimates of when power will be restored and they would like for everyone to be patient.
