COLUMBIA, S.C. (WMBF) – The SCHSL has announced it is extending the regular season an extra week due to the incoming weather from Hurricane Matthew. Week 11 will now be played on Friday, November 4th, and the playoffs and state championships will all move back a week.
The 1A and 2A state championships will be December 9th, and the 3A, 4A and 5A championship games will be at Williams-Brice Stadium on Saturday, December 10th – the same weekend as the North-South all-star football game at Doug Shaw Stadium in Myrtle Beach.
Games scheduled for weeks eight-ten will be played as scheduled.
Teams on the Grand Strand and Pee Dee will play their week seven games the week of October 31st-November 4th if both sides agree to the change.
