Suspicious package at Carolina Trust deemed safe; roadway, bank to reopen

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Myrtle Beach Police deemed a suspicious package safe after it was found at the Carolina Trust Federal Credit Union on 1010 21st Avenue North, according to Lt. Joey Crosby.

The Horry County Police Department Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit was on the scene assisting with the investigation.

According to Lt. Crosby, 21st Ave North was closed between Grissom Parkway and Hemingway St. Tuesday from about 11:50 a.m. to about 12:40 p.m. The immediate area was blocked off with crime scene tape and the Credit Union was closed for operations.
