HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – The wounded victim involved in the shooting incident on Kimberly Drive in the Conway area died that Tuesday afternoon, according to Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard.
The victim is identified as 22-year-old Laquan Johnson from Loris.
The shooting victim was taken to the hospital and was conscious when he left, says an HCPD officer.
Officers, detectives and crime scene investigators on the scene blocked off a large area, considered the crime scene, within which three homes were inside, as well as part of the road.
Neighbors were questioned for anything they may have seen or heard.
According to an HCPD incident report, the shooting happened a little before 5:00 a.m. A woman who was inside the home with the victim said she was asleep in a bedroom and the man was sleeping on a couch.
At one point, a suspect reportedly entered the residence armed with a firearm and said they were going to "take everything," the report stated.
Law enforcement executed a search warrant on the home.
Horry County police continue to investigate this case.
