HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A joint operation earlier this month in Loris resulted in the seizure of large quantities of cocaine and over $80,000 in cash, and the arrest of two on a number of charges.
According to information from Horry County Police Capt. John Harrelson, with the criminal investigations division, Emmanuel Bellamy, 27, was charged with: three counts of unlawful possession of a handgun and one count each of unlawful carrying of a handgun; possession of a stolen handgun; trafficking cocaine; trafficking crack cocaine; possession of a schedule II drug; possession with intent to distribute a schedule I-V drug; and failure to stop for a blue light.
Additionally, Jamell Bellamy, 26, was charged with unlawful carrying of a handgun; possession of a stolen handgun; possession with intent to distribute cocaine; and possession of crack cocaine.
Both were arrested on Sept. 7. According to online records from the J. Reuben Long Detention Center, Emmanuel Bellamy remains incarcerated under no bond. Jamell Bellamy was released Sept. 9 on a $17,500 bond.
According to Harrelson, the ATF Violent Crime and Gang Task Force conducted a joint operation with the HCPD's narcotics and street crimes units. That operation reportedly resulted in the seizure of over one kilogram of cocaine, over 70 grams of crack cocaine, a quantity of scheduled pills, three firearms and over $80,000 in cash.
