The city invites public to Myrtle Beach Jazz Festival

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – The City of Myrtle Beach is inviting the public to celebrate jazz history at the Myrtle Beach Jazz Festival on Saturday, October 1 from 1:00 p.m. to midnight on Carver Street.

Carver Street was once a major performance destination for Jazz legends like Billie Holliday and Duke Ellington, according to the City of Myrtle Beach's press release.

The event is free and everyone is encouraged to come out and celebrate the city's jazz history, food, and live jazz music from local legend, the release states.

Special guests for the event include: South Carolina's Ambassador of Jazz Music, Mr. Skipp Pearson, along with his Jazz Ensemble, James "Bull" Canty, Jazz Etc., Chocolate Chip Band, Tru Sol and Jessie Wilson, Jr. and Friends.
