HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A 49-year-old man was taken into custody Tuesday following a brief standoff with Horry County police.

According to information from the Horry County Police Department, law enforcement was called to a report of a domestic situation at a home in the 9700 block of Kings Grant Drive in Murrells Inlet at 12:30 p.m. A woman told police that her boyfriend had beaten her, and she ran to the neighbor's house to call 911, the police report states. The responded officer noticed bruising on her face and neck, and told her to seek treatment at a nearby hospital.
