HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - A wine tasting festival, craft beer events, barbecue, the opening of a new playground, and patriots honoring the American flag are just a few of the events happening over Labor Day weekend.
Myrtle Beach's Coastal Uncorked Food Wine Beer and Spirits Festival is Sept. 2 through Sept. 4. For the second year, Broadway at the Beach is hosting the event.
The event kicks off Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., with Chocolate Under The Moon, a dessert and moonshine mixology bartender challenge event.
It will feature a moonshine mixology challenge, where local bartenders will be competing for votes as to who can make the best moonshine cocktail, while attendees sample decadent desserts and enjoy live music.
Due to the weather, the Chocolate Under The Moon event will be moved to the ballroom at the Sheraton Myrtle Beach Convention Center Hotel.
Saturday's events resume at Broadway at the Beach with the Brews 'N the Beach Craft Beer Event, from 4 to 7 p.m. Guests will be able to enjoy samples of rare, specialty one-off and craft beers from all over the country, live music, food from area vendors and a souvenir beer tasting glass.
"This year, with the Brews 'N the Beach Craft Beer Event, we've asked each of the vendors to bring in some of the limited release and rare beers that they offer so the craft beer enthusiasts will be able to taste something that they can't necessarily find in mass market," said Jeffery Wisniewski, events and membership programs manager for the Myrtle Beach Hospitality Association.
On Sunday, the Grand Wine Tasting event closes out the festival. From 1 to 5 p.m. festival-goers will enjoy samplings of a variety of wines from all over the country.
Tickets for the 2016 Coastal Uncorked Food, Wine and Spirits Festival are now on sale and can be purchased by going to www.CoastalUncorked.com.
Brews, Blues and BBQ Festival
House of Blues in North Myrtle Beach is hosting the Fifth Annual Brews, Blues and BBQ Festival on Saturday starting at 5 p.m. The free event will feature craft beer, live music and barbecue.
"You can get a raspberry beer, chocolate beer, a strawberry beer. There's a little bit of something for everybody," said Dawn Temples, marketing and promotions manager for the Myrtle Beach House of Blues.
Craft beer sample tickets cost $1
"The barbecue will be served in sample sizes, so you can try that if you want," Temples said. "You can get a rib finger, slider sandwiches, you can have a little bit of everything that way."
On Sunday, the fun continues with the Sweet Reggae Finale on the deck, an event held in conjunction with the Surf Rider Foundation.

The playground is already in use, but everyone is invited to attend the grand opening ceremony.
Patriot Honor Ride
The Patriot Honor Ride will be visiting Conway on Sunday at 3 p.m. The community is invited to a flag-folding ceremony on the lawn of the old courthouse in downtown Conway.
One retired Air Force colonel is riding his bicycle from Lubec, Maine to Key West, Fla., - 2,500 miles in 60 days - carrying 16 U.S. flags that represent 16 families of fallen or disabled soldiers that will be receiving a scholarship through Folds of Honor.
