HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources' law enforcement division will be conducting courtesy boat inspections at a number of public boat landings in preparation for the Labor Day weekend.
According to a press release, SCDNR boating safety and enforcement officers will perform inspections for required safety equipment and proper boat and motor registrations. Those not in compliance will not receive a ticket, but an opportunity to fix the issue before launching their boats.
The inspections will take place at a number of boat ramps across the state throughout the weekend. Here is a list of area inspections taking place on Sunday, Sept. 4:
- Georgetown County: East Bay Street Park – Sampit River – 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Horry County: Bass Pro Shop Landing – S.C. 22 at U.S. 17 on Intracoastal Waterway – 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Marion County: Galivants Ferry Landing – Little Pee Dee River – 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
