MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A new restaurant is going up in Myrtle Beach with a concept new to the area: more energy-efficient and healthier for the environment.

Two restaurants will soon bring “Heidi’s Corner” off 82nd Avenue North to life. One of them you already know: Croissants Bistro and Bakery. The other one you don't. They have the same owner, Heidi Vukov.

"We are going green. As green as we can for the times, I suppose you would say,” Vukov says. “So we are using a lot of super-tech equipment. Everything is electric, there will be no gas in either kitchen. This is a cleaner way to cook."

Croissants on 38th Avenue North is staying where it is. The second location on 82nd will be a little bigger.

The concept of the restaurant on the other side of Heidi's Corner. Vukov says, is something different than anything we have in Myrtle Beach. She hasn't yet revealed the theme or the name, because those details are still being ironed out.

She says it will have a large bar people will be encouraged to eat at, and a wrap-around porch.

This area is seeing a boom. Publix brought new business, and new neighborhoods are being built just off 82nd avenue north. Now Vukov is getting a jump on the location.

When it comes to being green, she says she has her influences, and they encouraged her to use as much biodegradable material as she can, like with coffee cups and to-go boxes.

"I actually have four millennial children,” Vukov explains. “And two of them are working in the business. And it is a priority in their lives. And it's not about me and my future. It's about the next generation, and the generation after that."

The plans are moving along. The design was already approved by the City of Myrtle Beach, and the sign for Heidi's corner is expected to be approved his week.
