MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Televisions, home appliances and even new cars.
These are some of the big-ticket items on sale for Labor Day Weekend. Also, for those who are still thinking about taking a quick getaway trip for the holiday, there is still time to book a vacation that is a steal.
Retailers are looking to give a lot of their inventory one last push to make room for the holiday season.
Stan Klip, general manager with Best Buy in Myrtle Beach, said this time of year customers are done vacationing and will often focus on making home improvements, like upgrading appliance before the holidays.
"They are done with their holiday trip, they are done with their week vacation and now they are getting their house fitted up for the last part of the year, or for the Christmas season," Klip said.
He added Labor Day is when some customers have consider purchasing a new big screen TV.
"Labor Day is right at the start of football season, both NFL and college, so we have a big influence with big TVs during this time, he said."
This weekend customers can see savings on some of the hottest smart screen and flat screen televisions, with as much as 30 to 45 percent off.
Car dealerships are also looking to attract customers with big deals for the holiday weekend.
Most dealerships are offering clearance deals on their 2016 model vehicles to make room for their 2017 inventory. If customers shop around and do their homework, they can find some reasonable discounts and hefty rebates.
Shoppers should not limit yourself, as the deals are popping online as well. Klip said Labor Day sales are the perfect opportunity to find those hidden deals that might will slip away just before Black Friday.
"It's that big jump where some people will even do some shopping for the holiday during holiday weekend," he said.
It's not too late to book a weekend getaway. The popular smartphone app Groupon offers several deals for hotels and resorts.
WMBF News searched for quick trips to Savannah, Georgia and Charleston and found some hotels offer rates as low as $48 per night.
Even to book a staycation, Groupon offer deals for Myrtle Beach resorts and hotels as low as $35 per night. Most of the resorts are kid-friendly.
