Mullins-based SOPAKCO lays off over 100 employees

MULLINS, SC (WMBF) – A Mullins business has laid off more than 100 employees from its processing facility.

Bob Bouyea, director of communications and marketing for the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce, said they received the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification notice on Friday from SOPAKCO.

The business, which produces ready-to-eat meals for the military, permanently laid off 116 workers at its processing facility at 215 Mullins St., according to Bouyea.
