MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Two suspects remained in jail Monday following their arrest for allegedly possessing over 1,000 grams of cocaine and almost $65,000 in cash.
According to Deputy Commander Dean Bishop with the Fifteenth Circuit Drug Enforcement Unit, Donovan Lamar Chestnut and Jordyn Bargerstock with charged with trafficking cocaine over 400 grams, trafficking cocaine between 28 to 100 grams and possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
Information from the J. Reuben Long Detention Center's website states that Chestnut, 28, of North Myrtle Beach, has a $410, 000 bond.
The bond for Bargerstock, 20, of Surfside Beach, is $68,000.
Bishop said the investigation began after the Myrtle Beach Police Department received a tip of a man and a woman in possession of a large amount of drugs and money.
The DEU, working with the MBPD, began investigating and got a search warrant for a room at the Bar Harbor Resort in Myrtle Beach, where the items, including six grams of marijuana, were reportedly found.
Both suspects were taken into custody on Aug. 25 and booked into J. Reuben Long on Aug. 26.
