TIMMONSVILLE, SC (WMBF) – Honda of South Carolina is expanding its Florence County manufacturing facility by investing $45 million in the project and creating 250 new jobs over the next few years, according to a press release from South Carolina Department of Commerce.
The Timmonsville plant is one of the company's 19 major manufacturing facilities in North America and is sole production facility for Honda ATVs and SxS vehicles in the region.
"Honda has been a fantastic partner for nearly two decades," said Gov. Nikki Haley. "This $45 million investment, which means 250 jobs for our people, is another huge win for Team South Carolina."
The expansion is expected to be complete in the fourth quarter of 2019, according to the SCDC. Hiring for the positions has begun and will continue throughout the next several years.
