Hartsville Police Department invites residents to Coffee with a Cop

HARTSVILLE, SC (WMBF) – Hartsville Police Department invites local residents to take part in Coffee with a Cop and join community discussions on Wednesday, September 21 at Middletown Apartments Community Room located at 601 W Washington St. in Hartsville.

According to the City of Hartsville’s press release, this meeting will allow residents to ask questions, discuss issues and learn more about Hartsville’s PD.

The national Coffee with a Cop initiative is supported by the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Community Oriented Policing Services, promoting community meetings to develop relationships between law enforcement and community members, the press release states.

    MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) -  A local motorcycle club rallied the community together today in honor of two women killed in a bank robbery in Conway. Rivertown Riders hosted a memorial ride today for CresCom Bank employees-- Donna Major and Katie Skeen. The ride started around noon, leaving from Whiskey Beach Bar and Grill on North Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach. It ended at NewSpring Church along Waccamaw Boulevard around 4:30.     A 14-month-old female is currently on life support at Duke University, according to Robeson County Sheriff Sealy. Police received a call from the hospital who suspected child abuse. According to Sheriff Sealy, the child was brought to the hospital on Friday and had severe bruises throughout her body.

    Five men were arrested for solicitation of prostitution in Florence County Friday night, according to online jail records. Deangelo Anton Williams, of Darlington Julius Levern Frierson, of Florence Kendrick Laroy Dixon, of Bishopville Ryan Scott Yarborough, of Darlington Samson Ejiofor Nnaji, of Tampa, Florida All five men were arrested for solicitation of prostitution after midnight Friday night and have since been released.
