HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Horry County police have arrested and formally charged a Loris man who was shot and wounded Tuesday morning while allegedly trying to break into a home near Longs.
According to information from the J. Reuben Long Detention Center website, Daniel Frinks, 57, remained in jail Wednesday under no bond on a charge of attempting to enter a house or vessel with intent to steal.
The alleged incident happened at a home off. S.C. 905 near Longs shortly after 9 a.m., Tuesday. According to the arrest warrant, the suspect was told by the homeowner numerous times to leave the property, but he continued to try and enter.
He was then shot by the homeowner, "out of fear for her safety," the warrant stated.
Frinks suffered a non-life-threatening injury.
