The Oceanfront Merchants Association seeks to hire a director. The director is the key management leader of the Oceanfront Merchants Association (OMA). The director is responsible for overseeing the administrative duties, programs, events and strategic planning of the organization. Other key duties including fundraising, marketing, public relations and community outreach. This position reports directly to the board of directors. 

General Responsibilities
1.      Board Governance:
a.      Lead OMA in a manner that supports and guides the organization’s mission as defined by the Board of Directors
b.      Communicate effectively with the Board of Directors and provide, in a timely and accurate manner, all information necessary for the Board to function properly and to make informed decisions
c.      Work with the Board of Directors to ensure OMA runs smoothly and operates to fulfill its mission
2.      Financial Performance and Viability:
a.      Maintain the fiscal integrity of OMA, to include submission to the Board of a proposed annual budget and monthly financial statements, which accurately reflect the financial condition of the organization
b.      Manage OMA’s finances, including operating within the approved budget, ensuring the maximum resource utilization, and maintaining of the organization in a positive fiscal position
c.      Responsible for fundraising and developing other resources necessary to support OMA’s mission and to meet budgetary needs
3.      Organization Mission and Strategy:
a.      Work with Board, staff, members, and volunteers to ensure that OMA’s mission is fulfilled thorough programs, strategic planning, and community outreach
b.      Implement OMA programs that carry out the organizations mission
c.      Develop strategic planning initiatives to ensure that OMA can successfully fulfill its mission into the future
d.      Enhance and improve OMA’s image by being active and visible in the community and by working with other professional, civic and private organizations
e.      Work with the City of Myrtle Beach and the Downtown Redevelopment Corporation to maintain the integrity of OMA and OMA district events
f.      Plan and implement programs and events, as needed

Professional Qualifications:
•       Transparent and high integrity leadership
•       Five years or more experience
•       Solid, hands-on, budget management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decision-making, and reporting
•       Strong organization abilities including planning, delegating, program development, and task facilitation
•       Ability to convey OMA’s strategic future to Board of Directors, staff, members, volunteers, and sponsors
•       Knowledge of fundraising strategies and sponsor relations unique to the nonprofit sector as well as the tourism industry in Myrtle Beach
•       Skills to collaborate with and motivate Board of Directors, volunteers, staff, members, and sponsors
•       Strong written and oral communication skills
•       Ability to interface and engage diverse individuals and groups
•       Strong public speaking ability
