MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – An 18-year-old accused of entering a Pennsylvania hospital while armed with a handgun and removing a 21-year-old woman has been taken into custody in Myrtle Beach.
According to information from the Myrtle Beach Police Department's website, Elliott Nicholas Ravert was arrested at 1 p.m., Friday on a charge of shoplifting.
Additionally, the woman, Alizia Marie Buzzard, was also arrested on the same charge, according to MBPD records.
The police report states Ravert and Buzzard were stopped after trying to shoplift several items from the Walmart on Seaboard Street in Myrtle Beach. Police ran their names through the National Crime Information Center, and found that Ravert was wanted for armed robbery, and Buzzard came back as a person missing from Pennsylvania.
The Cornwall Bourough, Pa., Police Department posted information on its Facebook page Wednesday indicating Buzzard was last seen at the Philhaven Hospital in the West Cornwall Township on Aug. 9.
Ravert allegedly entered the hospital armed with a handgun to remove her.
The Pennsylvania State Police posted on its Facebook page Friday that the two had been located and the missing persons advisory had been canceled.
The Associated Press reported Ravert threatened two nurses at gunpoint to spring Buzzard, his girlfriend, from the mental health care hospital.
