FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A Florence County manhunt ended Thursday afternoon with the arrest of a man on burglary and kidnapping charges.

According to a Florence County Sheriff’s Office press release, John Brady Dennis, 30, of Florence, was charged kidnapping, domestic violence and two counts of second-degree burglary.

On June 12, 2015, the suspect allegedly entered a home on South Wallace Road in Florence in the evening hours. While inside, Dennis allegedly assaulted a person and removed a child without the legal guardian’s consent, the release stated.

Additionally, the suspect is said to have entered a second home on Edsel Road in Florence without permission on Sept. 10.

Thursday’s manhunt started after deputies who were attempting to serve the warrants on him saw him flee into a wooded area off Suena Drive shortly after 12 p.m.

He was arrested around 4 p.m.
