Florence firefighters respond to structure fire Tuesday morning

FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) – Florence firefighters responded to a structure fire in the 200 block of E. Pines Street on Tuesday at 3:45 a.m., according to the Florence Fire Department news release.

Upon arrival, firefighters noticed heavy smoke and fire coming from the back of the home.

Firefighters worked together to put the fire out quickly and look for residents.

According to the news release, there was no one inside and the house fire was determined to be an unoccupied structure.

The Florence Police Department and Florence EMS were on scene, the news release states. 

After an investigation the cause of the fire was recorded as undetermined, the news release states.

    A teenage boy scout drowned in a private pond near Lumberton Saturday morning, according to a media reports. The boy scout, believed to be 14 years old, was recovered from a man made private pond on Willoughby Road in Robeson County, according to a report from The Robesonian citing Robert Ivey, the commander of the Lumberton Rescue and Emergency Medical Services.
