FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – School will be back in session, starting on Monday, August 15 and the Florence County Sheriff’s Office ask that everyone practice caution and patience when using roadways, according to the FCSO press release.

FCSO wants parents, teachers, and students to be aware of the increased traffic volume, longer lines at stop lights, stop signs, bus stops, and school speed zones.

According to the press release, FCSO deputies will be out in school speed zone areas to enforce the law.

Motorists are advised to leave home a little earlier, especially during the first week of school. They should also be aware of small children walking along roadways during this time of year, the press release states.

“When it comes to the safety of our children, we will have a ‘zero tolerance’ for speeding through school speed zones or disregarding school bus stop signs,” said Sheriff Kenney Boone.
